Airlite is the first wellness product for the built environment. Airlite was created in respect of the environment and the principles of the circular economy – from production to disposal.
Airlite has one of the lowest Embodied Carbon contents on the market , with a Global Warming Index of only 0.115 Kg CO2-eq (EPD), up to 76% lower than that of the leading products on the market.
10 Kg of Airlite are equivalent to a reduction of 2.38 Kg of CO2.
How Airlite reduces CO2 emissions into the atmosphere
Unlike the energy-intensive thermal processes involved in the production of conventional paints, Airlite has a cold production process, powered entirely by renewable energy. This translates into a huge reduction in the CO2 footprint of the manufacturing process.
Airlite is shipped in powder form, saving the energy needed to ship huge volumes of liquid and thus reducing the CO2 footprint.
Once applied (and through the drying process), Airlite actively absorbs CO2 from the atmosphere through the carbonation process that occurs during product application.
Airlite has naturally high solar reflectance, so when applied to the exterior surfaces of buildings, it reflects the warm component of sunlight, keeping the interior of buildings cooler and reducing cooling energy consumption by up to 29% (field test real) and, therefore, CO2 emissions.
That’s not all… Airlite’s life cycle is Cradle to Cradle GOLD certified
Airlite is made with 40% recycled raw materials, which means it not only uses fewer natural resources on earth, but reduces the waste associated with other processes.
We use 100% renewable energy during the production process.
We have obtained Green Seal approval, a leading US eco-label for products that meet stringent assessment criteria for human health and reduced environmental impact.
