LEED is green building
LEED, or Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design, is the most widely used green building rating system in the world. Available for virtually all building, community and home project types, LEED provides a framework to create healthy, highly efficient and cost-saving green buildings. LEED certification is a globally recognized symbol of sustainability achievement.
Projects pursuing LEED certification earn points across several categories, including energy use and air quality. Based on the number of points achieved, a project then earns one of four LEED rating levels: Certified, Silver, Gold or Platinum.

Cradle to Cradle Certified™

The Cradle to Cradle Certified™ Product Standard guides designers and manufacturers through a continual improvement process that looks at a product through five quality categories: material health, material re-use, renewable energy and carbon management, water stewardship, and social fairness. A product receives an achievement level in each category: Basic, Bronze, Silver, Gold, or Platinum – with the lowest achievement level representing the product’s overall mark.
Product assessments are performed by a qualified independent organisation trained by the Institute. Assessment Summary Reports are reviewed by the Institute, which certifies products meeting the Standard requirements, and licenses the use of the Cradle to Cradle Certified™ word and design marks to the product manufacturer. Every two years, manufacturers must demonstrate good faith efforts to improve their products in order to have their products recertified.
This product is Cradle to Cradle Certified™ at the Gold level.

EPD

An Environmental Product Declaration (EPD) is an independently verified and registered document that communicates transparent and comparable information about the life-cycle environmental impact of products, in accordance with the international standard ISO 14025.
It is prepared with reference to the product life-cycle analysis based on an LCA (Life Cycle Assessment) study, which defines the consumption of resources (materials, water, energy) and the impacts on the surrounding environment during the various phases of the product life-cycle. The system is international and verified by a third party.

Green Seal

The Green Seal found on products or services is an instant indicator that they have met or exceeded the sustainability criteria at leadership level, following a lifecycle analysis. Buyers, facility managers, events managers and consumers everywhere seek – and often demand – the Green Seal because they know it is synonymous with environmental and health excellence.
The Green Seal scientific standards provide the necessary roadmap to improve the sustainability of companies and achieve Green Seal certification, one of the most respected eco-labels in the industry.
Friendly Materials

Friendly Materials® is the result of a research project that objectively analyses a series of chemical substances, building materials, building systems and indoor areas, based on how they may affect human health. It ranks building materials relying on an objective calculation methodology that combines several parameters that have an impact on human health.
Friendly Materials® shares on its website the healthy materials library – a guide to achieve a friendly indoor environment with high health standards – assigning a score for each assessed product. The healthiest products obtain a gold, silver or bronze medal. Airlite paints were awarded the gold level. With such recognition, Airlite demonstrates a desire to raise awareness on non-toxic building environments and on healthy building designs, as well as promoting transparency on the building materials’ industry.
